Tim Garner grinds all night
long in Fitchburg, MA.
Howard Cooke slays a lien to
tail at Asbury Park, NJ.
KYWA
to see Billy walking in with a Minor
Threat shirt on. Billy is king. We
sweated away breakfast and got a
hotel room.
Everything was turning into the
same thing. Everyone was worn
out and we all just wanted to get
back. We cruised through
Chicago but couldn't skate due to
rain. The van reeked and we were
all getting lightheaded from the
exhaust leak. The Ghetto Van
died on us in downtown Chicago.
Somehow Sargeant Bourne did
his handiwork and we were
back on the road to Missouri.
This guy Glen owns a shop
called Altered Skates and put
us up for the night. The follow-
ing day we skated a sick new
park in Columbia, Missouri-
concrete with good lines.
Everyone was cool there, and
they hooked us up with free
pizza for the road to Kansas.
We jumped back in the van
and arrived in Lawrence, Kansas
in no time due to Scott's driving.
Scott's friend took us in like no
other person had. He gave us
the keys to his house and we
were off. The demo in Lawrence
went well. Karma and Al were
hyped so we drove to this
twelve-stair handrail where they
got busy. Justin gave me a ticket
to see Mr Bungle and I was
stoked. Thanks Justin. Wichita
sucks, especially if you want to
get home. We did a thing there
and it was off to Fort Collins,
Colorado for the last demo.
So much happened on this trip
that can't be explained in words. I
wish I could, but I can't; it's just
one of those things. But what I
witnessed in the past month and a
half was incredible. I have more
respect for every one of these
guys than I have for most of the
skateboarders I've seen. Thanks
for having me aboard.
Special thanks go out to
Laticia at Consolidated, all the
shops who helped us in finding a
place to stay, Sid in Rhode
Island, Aaron in Rochester,
Justin in Kansas, the Tsocheffs,
all the 25¢ private screening
booths in North America, Baby
Arm and Gerth, SEW, Matt
Ballard, and anyone else who
helped us along the way-you
know who you are.
Bourne-dog stops playing road
mechanic long enough to pull in a
broken wrist blunt in Rochester, NY.
Backside lipslides are a piece of
cake for Richard Paez. He slices
into one at Skater Island.
