            TRASH
Andy Stone and Pep Martinez were seen rolling through the SF area in a
break from the deep cold that has paralyzed the East. The new Element roster
had three pros listed, the DC duo and Bill Pepper. Suspiciously, Eric Pupecki
was left off the new roster. The inside
line is he wanted more fluff than he
was worth and wanted to cut some
ams in favor of pro superiority.
Where are they now?

Coco and Hufnagel were shipped off to some
European demo anarchy, courtesy of the nicest
guys in England, Ray and Gary of New Deal.
The quiet neighborhood around Bernal Heights
has been invaded by a new crew. There was no
welcome mat for new recruits Noah Peacock,
Shawn Martin and Jesse Driggs, who have taken
up dwelling in a haunted house. Lending a hand
were Brain Ferdinand and Danny Sargent.
NO WAY
Russ Pope and Jason Adams have formed as
new venture called Creature. Recent Zoo York
defectee Barker Barrett is said to be down for
the solid salary and joined in as well.

Big Daddy Riggins and Fausto V were report-
ed in the vicinity of the Oakland Roadster Show
Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies. Also present
ware hot rod legends Boyd Coddington, Andy
Brizio, George Barris, Gene Winfield, Junior
Conway. Howdy Ledbetter and Don Tognotti.
The street skate syndicate was well-represented
by the Oaktown crew with Ron Allen functioning
as the godfather of crossover. Feverish sessions
on the Oakland Coliseum bank turned it up a few
notches. Beto Oblon and
his San Jose clique attract-

Keith lined up a '34 Harry Miller Indianapolis
racing engine. With Coddington's gang spotted
in close vicinity to the rest of the Think crew, the
rumors are flying. After all, Eric Ricks was rolling
a chopped 29 Ford Coupe. Equally involved but
denying it is Brad Dorfman, who was seen pilot-
ing a whacked '50 Mercedes Convertible.

after cruising the ASR tradeshow. This was his first

DIRT DEVILS
Amidst the dissension, a quiet meeting
between the sports manu-alite took place
recently in Poway, California. Present at the
informal convocation were Lumpy, Douglas,
Rocco, Thiebaud, Klindt, Tornasky and Denike.
The private affair stressed unity, quality and
equality. More meetings are said to be planned.
in the near future. Temasky at last word had just
acquired a warehouse to build a private skate

Then there was the 1994 Action Sports
Retailer Trade Show. In keeping with all the
increased security and amplified regulatory
atmosphere, (the access badges were even
encrypted with a secret agent code), Deluxe
issued buyer's credentials to the world. This
clever rouse accredited all wannabe show
entrants as buyers from the Great Rod Skate-
board Shop. The bogus passes worked amazing-
ly wall but ASR types never got the joke. Avalon
Anders was the hit of the show, appearing with
Rikki Rocket in the Thrasher booth. Tony Alva
and his dad drew attention by appearing as
themselves. Mass media scrutiny was brought to
bear upon one Ice-T, who was sussing out the
show prior to the release of his own line of gear.
Equally impressive were the Molifua clan who
also are rumored to be on the verge of offering
product. Frank Messman seemed to be out of
Europe and into semi-secret America ventures.
The Hawk brothers, Tony and Steve,
appeared as identical twin brunettes. Their
similarity was so striking that not even their
own parents could tell them apart. Donovan
Frankenrieter, Christian Fletcher and
Dennet gained rep stature based on moves
like frontside floating re-entries. Skipperboy
Engblom came, sold two million through
Fat Mac to Nippon Snowland, and then split
back to Hawaii. Tom Bessell was the haute
couture designer while the North Shore
influenced more than a few. Man Trap
hooked up all the prom queens while Daddy
Dorf worked deals on the outer reaches. V
called in a bad debt from a one-time major
turned low-buck toy maker and then
appeared with wire cutters in the neo dis-
counter's skate museum. The Club Atomic
design squad artistically created a stationary

WATER BET
On a recent swell at Waimea Bay, Hawaii, big
wave riders like Ken Bradshaw and Brock Little
left the water to catch a jet plane to surf the
same large swell at Mavericks outside of Half
Moon Bay. On the scene for their arrival was
Kevin Ancell, who promptly departed for
Mexico once they showed up.
Once again rumored: Steve Rocco and Stacy
Peralta are said to be collaborating on a history
of skating video.
In one month, Greg Escalante went from
hanging out with artists Roy Lichtenstien and
Leo Cortelli to road tripping with Billy Gibbons,
Dale Velzy and Robert Williams, to surfing in
