What is your approach to learning a new trick?
Most tricks these days are expanded from
tricks that you can already do, so I usually try to
add on from one that exists. If I can feel the trick,
I like to take it as far as I can.
Being that you were the first to bring the late
shove-it into competition, why is it that late
shove-its are considered passé and who
decides when a trick is in or out?
That's a good point. I guess it is the kids who
are out there skating from hearsay and word of
mouth. It's not the person out there doing those
tricks because those tricks feel good to them.
Basically it is because there is that judge and jury
in skateboarding that shouldn't be.
What motivates you to skate?
Just knowing that I love it and that it hasn't
dampened over the past eight years. It's just still
in me. That's what makes me want to get out
there and skateboard. It's just myself right now
and it always has been. Just the fun and the
knowing of what a skateboard can do and make
you feel. I try to skate everyday, I try to be on the
skateboard at least at some point of the day.

What are some of your worst injuries?
Little breaks. I had broken my finger once and
fucked up my ankle really bad after my first year
of skating. Mainly ankle tweaks and swellbows,
but they're really not bad. They heal with time.
Future plans?
I plan to go back and finish school and contin-
ue to skate as well.
