RUSHIN ROULETTE: (above) Some
skate games take a little teamwork and
perhaps an additional accessory like a
ball, stick, etc. On a slow Sunday after-
noon city boys (L to R) Mickey Reyes,
Camden Scott, Mike Johnson and Mike
Archimedes found a fountain that was
perfect for a few rounds of rollerball.
TEN IN THE SEWER POCKET: (opposite
page) Cuing from atop his cue, Bryce
Kanights calls his shot in a game of
street pool that takes a lot of balls.
MARCO POLO: (left) In this dry version
of the popular pool game, Chris Cook is
"it" and takes a radical shallow end line
to put the tag on Dave Duncan and
Mondo,
IPOREM
of this are cop cars, old ladies,
young ladies, businessmen,
teachers, and yo mama.
Most Fucked Trick - Figure it out,
bro.
The Line A course is described
and each rider skates it as speedily
and/or stylishly as possible.
Down The Line - In this case, the
line is already drawn. It is a downhill
ditch, road or canal. The object is to
get to the end first. It is up to you as
to whether you to get there by dis-
boarding your fellow riders or by just
plain going fast. If you choose the
former, any rolling object is at your
command to cause your fellow to fall
and possibly suffer serious injury.
Safety equipment is optional.
Tag - Whoever doesn't know how to
play this one ain't an American. The
rules are the same, but now a skate
is at your feet. Tennis and basketball
courts, as well as schools, gas sta-
tions and parking garages make
great locations for this one.
Skaterball - This one resembles the
sport played in the movie Rollerball.
A round fountain is about the best
thing for it. The ball can be a soft-
ball or whatever. The ball is put into
play, and whoever picks it up and
tries to run with it must pass a pre-
chosen "blocker" from the other
team. If he falls or is sent down, the
ball is put back in play. Of course,
you can make up your own rules as
you go.
Longest Grind Without Copers
Training wheels are forsaken in this
contest of skill, power and speed.
The list of possible skate games is
endless. Games like Frisbee Golf
and Flag Football are readily
adapted to the skate mode. Others
are just waiting to be invented, like
Mattress Tumblers, where you ride
up to a mattress and handplant, el
rollo or whatevero over it and on-
ward. Name your game. Imagination
stacks the deck, and fun is wild.
