gets sessioned lots in these hard-to-deal-with-times. The park is
closing in March but will reopen later on at a different location. If
all goes as planned, the park should be bigger and better. Come
April, most of the snow has melted-but the city uses little pebbles
instead of salt to deal with the snow, leaving rocks all over the
place until May. After that, nature takes its course.
Skateboarders in Montreal are far from extinct. A shitload of
them are very talented and whether they capitalize or not doesn't
matter to them; they're just happy killing time with positive energy,
somewhat like graffiti bombers. You can really feel the fellowship
between the skaters because they understand and respect that skat-
ing is quite personal. Skateboards are even produced across the
bridge in Longueuil. Max Dufour started Premium Wood some years
back and definitely supports the cause. There are so many rippers
here that I would probably have to buy a six pack of pens if I were to
start naming names. The city was

IT JUST DOESN'T STOP.
Many other traveling nomads have
destroyed the city--whether they
were on tour, doing demos,
comps, or just lurking, I'm sure they had a blast. The bars, the girls,
the skating... it just doesn't stop.
All this, just to say that the culture of skateboarding has
lived through many "generations" of addicts, and continues
to strive. The island of Montreal is vast, and if you have a
bus/ metro pass or a vehicle, there's so much to skate and so
much more to create. So, if what you see in front of you is
your cup of tea (or bottle of beer), come on down and be the
next contestant on "The Pipe is Tight."
