bible religiously, anything else I write about the pipe would be
totally redundant. Just make sure you've got your drool cups
fastened under your dribblin' chins. The stadium has everything
you need to get high, and the security guards only give you a hard
time if you're skating the rooftops, Industrialization has left its
mark, which increases the odds of finding nice, big full pipes; if you
look hard enough. The longer the search, the sweeter the reward
will be. Summertime is very hot and humid, so there are many pools.
Unfortunately, only a minority of them are skateable in late May/
early June. You won't get the directions from me right now but if you
happen to be around at the right time, I won't let you down.
The only bummer (other than the fact that there aren't any good
outdoor cement parks) is that Montreal turns into Montre-Hell for
about five months out of the year. November is sometimes warm
enough, but usually too cold and not as enjoyable because your
bushings get rock hard and your trucks cease to pivot and turn.

Whatever. Come
December you have no choice but to skate indoors. Winters here
are brutal and the only banks around are the snowbanks that usu-
ally reach three-feet in height. This leads most of the skaters to the
many skateparks that inhabit and surround the city. There's one in
Repentigny, one in Granby, Orbite in St.-Jean, Trois-Riviéres just
opened up a park, and the Tazmahal which is right downtown at
the Berri-Uqam metro station. The atmosphere is quite nauseating,
and it's really more of an extreme recreational facility because
they let anything with wheels come in. The "street" course is
pretty much a back-and-forth ramp (thanks to Max and PL) that
Jens Grenier takes his b/s tailslide up to the Paradise City where the
grass is green and the girls are pretty. Champ de Mars.
