Who really likes winter? Well, maybe snow-
boarders, but "pow-pow" doesn't fit into
everyone's vocabulary. If I had it my way, there would
be warm weather and sunshine all the time. Fat
chance, I know, but there are ways to spend at least a
few of the grey days of winter in a better climate. you
just have to move around a bit.
Some rip rats that I know (Clint Peterson, Steve
Nesser, and Seth McCallum, coming from Minneapolis)
understand the winter syndrome. They've spent their
last few cold seasons in Mazatlan, Mexico, and this
year threw the idea into my head. Clear skies, the
ocean, and perfect weather never sounded better. The
only thing was, what the hell would there be to skate?
Everyone I talked to gave me weird looks, like I should-
n't even bring my board. For some reason though, the
thought of nothing to skate became more and more
appealing to me. It went right along with becoming a
fat skateboard picture-taker. I mean, I don't do anything
anyway, so why not take a vacation!
