HEY HOMIE
What's up with all these "hardcore,
do it for yourself, Muska sucks"
skaters? Why do they have so much
anger and beef with pros who are
doing well? They're just pissed that
they can't bust out a kickflip and
they smoke too much pot. Why can't
Muska have a pro model shoe? It just
pisses me off that these closed-
minded assholes can't accept that
skating is changing for the better.
That's all I have to say; oh yeah, Peter
Gunn (October 2000 issue) KISS
MY ASS! MUSKA FOREVER!

Just a quick note to let you know
I've been reading your magazine
for many years now. It's the great-
est skate mag in print today. I'm 30
years old and have been skating for
about 23 of those. I've skated just
about every skatepark in Southern
California over the last 23 years,
including Oasis, Del Mar Skate
Ranch, Upland Pipeline, and The
Ranch in Colton. I still skate on a
regular basis at the Vans skatepark
in Ontario and The Brickyard in
Redlands. I consider myself a
skater 100%. But here's the prob-
lem: I'm also a police
officer and have been

Hey, I'm just writ-
ing to say that
recently I bought an
issue (September)
of Thrasher maga-
zine for the first
time. There was something that
bothered me. It wasn't anything big,
just an advertisement. It was for
Shorty's, the one with a horse "get-
tin' some" from another horse. At
first I thought it was funny, and I
laughed. But afterwards it became
rather annoying. Every time I
opened the magazine there were
those stupid horses staring at me.
Finally I ripped the page out. So
besides the animal porn in your
magazine I thought it rocked. I will
continue to buy and enjoy your
magazine, but hopefully ads like
those will no longer appear.

Every month I get a
copy of Thrasher
and read this or
that about how
cops are assholes and do
nothing but harass skaters. I will be
the first to agree that there are a lot
of guys out there who are badge-
heavy, but not all of us are. Please
try to remember that we are just
doing a job. A lot of people don't
see a person when they look at a
cop all they see is a badge and
gun. I support skaters and the
sport of skateboarding 100%
because I still do it. A lot of my
friends at work think I'm crazy, but
they also show me a lot of respect
for sticking to my guns about
something I really love. Anyway,
the next time a cop approaches
you to tell you not to skate at a cer-
tain spot, don't go ballistic and
start talking shit. Stop and talk to
the officer. Tell him your concerns
