Version 2
HE ROAD HOLDS MANY STORIES AND THERE ARE MANY MORE TO BE WRITTEN. EACH TIME
you set off on a trip it is a blank page, and when you get back the page is full of
wrong turns, rad sessions, hangovers, new spots, new people, and most of all fun.
I just went on one with the dudes from 151 and then some. We went from San Diego up to
Breckenridge, Colorado, skated some rad shit and had a
ball. When I got home I felt it only appropriate to come up
with 151 mishaps and tailtaps here, so I have taken a few
from the list and corre-
sponded them to my past
adventure through the
desert and the snow.
Above: Darren Navarrette, HRC kick-
flip Indy to fakie, Breckenridge, CO.
Far right: Chet Childress, BMC salute
backside tweaker, Montrose, CO.
1. Fun
You are in the vehicle, in this case a van, and you
are looking around at the crew. Let's see, there is
Darren Navarrette sitting shotgun with his death
metal mix tape. Zach, the team guy with chew in his
lip at the wheel. I look to the left and it's crooked-
armed Chet Childress with his drawing pad. Then
there is Aaron Harrison camped out in the back sip-
ping on a brew. You are stoked because you know this
is where you want to be, on the road to skate new
shit. You're anxious and you don't even know where
you are sleeping tonight. This is the road; this is it.
