CHICKEN HEAD
This letter is in regards to
Thrasher's February 2000 issue. On
the Nebraska article: there are a lot
of skate towns in Nebraska. Of
course you got Lincoln and Omaha,
but for every big town there's a
small town. I'm from Kearney, about
30 minutes from Grand Island. Yes,
Todd Coulliard opened the first
indoor park, but yet 30 miles west
and ten years earlier, Kearney
opened the first skate shop in
Nebraska 24 years ago, and it's still
open to this day. That shop threw
the first contest I can remember,
and that was in 1988. The town is
only 24,000 people and out of that
the most skaters we ever had was
around 24. The town became pop-
ular around 1990 when we started.

1993 we had seven different teams
go through. Anything from Real and
Fun all the way to Goodtimes right
when they started. I've lived in this
town for 22 years and I've seen
more stuff go down in Kearney than
Lincoln and Omaha. I just wanted to
say don't forget the little guys 'cause
we'll come back to haunt you.
