ollies over to front board, front lip,
and backside and frontside 5-0s. Colt
Cannon threw down a kickflip back-
side lipslide. Patrick Melcher nailed
ollies over to lip in traffic, ollie over to
feeble to fakie, and frontside 180's to
switch crooks repeatedly. Appleyard
nollied to crooked grinds across and
down as well as to frontside board-
slides. Chris Cole showed some orig-
inal stunts with hardflip Indys to late
fingerflip, benihana fingerflips to flat,
and topped it off with a big ol' 360°
flip to the concrete. Danny Garcia
nollied into noseslides only to nollie

heel out of them, and then sent a rip-
ple through the crowd after he nollie
flipped into a noseslide, calling out
"Got it!" as he locked in. It was awe-
some. Aaron Suski got first and a
grand with an ultra-risky ollie over to
backside tailslide down the rail.
Simply smashing!
It was another sick SPOT amateur
event. Brian Schaeffer ran a smooth
contest and even said thanks with a
free beer-and-punk-rock show on
Saturday night. Contests aren't dead,
and that's a good thing.
Damn. I should've taken his picture.
