Last March the
Embarcadero Plaza was
torn down. I've been over
there and seen the new plaza being
built. I saw a double-set, tons of
ledges, and a normal set of stairs.
It's really great the city is building
a new spot in SF. It looks like it will
be as good or better than the orig-
inal EMB. Will you guys cover it in
your magazine when it is com-
pleted? I also wanted to know if
there is going to be a replica of the
old EMB as part of a skatepark, sort
of like the new Combi-pool. I hope
there will be a replica of it because
I only got to skate there once and I
couldn't jump the six-stair. I wanted
a chance to jump the Gonz gap.
someday, but now it's not possible.
And maybe if the new EMB
becomes a big success, the skaters
of SF might be able to convince the
builders to turn it into a skatepark.
Also, can you give me directions to
SF's "New Spot"? Lastly, I've heard
that Washington state there is a
law that says if you get hurt skate-
boarding somewhere you cannot
sue. And my friend has gone to
Washington and said he didn't see
any "No skateboarding" signs.
What would it take to get this type
of law passed in California? Do we
even have a chance?

All right, I've got
something to say that needs
to be said. I'm 19 years old and
work in a skate shop in Bangor,
Maine. It's a dream job and I can eas-
'ily say I learn something new every
day. However, what I've just learned,
or come to realize, is that some kids
have nothing good to say at all. It
seems that more and more kids
around here have nothing but nega-
tive shit to say about everything in the
world of skateboarding, whether it's
how crappy a line of decks are or
who's selling out-it's just ridiculous.
For example, the other day I swear a
kid complained for 15 minutes about
how much he hates the Santa Cruz
logo. To all you kids I'm talking about
(you know who you are), listen to
what yo momma has always said.
Attitudes are contagious, and if you
got nothing good to say, don't say
anything at all.
