Smith grind.
San Francisco, CA.
What was the problem?
It was just a matter of going off the top in the right
place.
The Smith on the rail. Had you been there before?
No. I'd seen it before but never skated it. Gabe bondo-ed it
for me. I was skating with Brad and Mark Gonzales, playing
skate and add-a-trick and stuff, and then when the bondo
dried I went and skated the rail.
What about the kickflip tailslide bigspin?
From O'Meally? It came out?
It's a sequence, and your head's a little bit chopped
off in one of the shots, but it's dope.
I haven't seen it. Do you still have the fakie blunt fakie?
Yeah. It's a half-Cab blunt fakie. I wouldn't tell you
how to do it, but that's what I call it 'cause I work at
the mag. Or a switch nollie noseblunt slide. So, the
kickflip tailslide bigspin, that's in New York, right?
Yes. Flushing Meadows. You got the hurricane sequence?
Fuck yeah. How many tries on that one?
Probably 10 or 15. I did it before that, but I went
back with Gabe to shoot a sequence. It was a pain to
try it again, but I was psyched I did it again. It felt so
good.
What are some of your favorite movies?
Off the top of my head, I'll say Drugstore Cowboy, The
Matrix, and American Pie.
OK, Brian. Any closing words, shout-outs?
No shout-outs. All my friends know who they are.
