            Vans Skatepark
Ontario, Ca
Where: 45 minutes east of LA in the Inland Empire, formerly
known as the Badlands
What: Vans monster park number three. Including 10'/8' hour-
glass bowl, a sad 4' teardrop bowl, a sperm-shaped snake run to
12-foot bowl, 5' mini-ramp, 11' vert ramp, kiddie street course, pro-
sized indoor street course, outdoor concrete street course, in/out-
door bike course, and a complete Vans pro shop.
Good: It's right next door to Dave and Buster's
Bad: Mixed reviews, primarily about the street course. Main complaint is too
many obstacles put in as filler. One pro's suggested remedy was just to use the
course set-up from the Vans Triple Crown.
Pads: Yep.
Locals: The IE Click, the Daggers, Active team, and Fontucky junkies
Location: At the Ontario Mills mall where the I-10 and I-15 meet. From I-10,
exit Milliken Avenue North; from I-15, exit 4th Street. If you have enough gas,
just drive around the mall till you find it. -Sean Peterson

Clockwise from far left: Rick Howard switch backside flips a gap
while the members of the Eway On'tday Ateskay fraternity look on. If the
park didn't have airplane-hangar-sized ceilings Phil Hajal may have taken
this method through the roof. Tony Hawk says "safety first" and does a
fully-padded crooked grind without the help of a lapper. Another bloated,
behemoth of a park conveniently located near Abercrombie & Fitch.
