Provident Skatepark
Visalia, Ca

This page, clockwise from
top left: Jesse Paez's proficiency
with the noseblunt slide undoubtedly
helped him handle this transfer
noseslide into the bowl. The Visalia
park looks promising without kids
everywhere, doen't it? Okay, you've
chickened out on vert, but you're
definitely a wuss if you don't want
to give this bowl a try.

Above: This converted comet crater at Grover Beach is kind of convoluted.
Below: The G-force exerted on Tim Garner's body gives him a feeling of
weightlessness on this frontside 360° over the hip.
O
IN THE 4TH OF JULY, A NEW
park opened ten minutes south of
San Luis Obispo, CA in a town
called Grover Beach.
Good: It is concrete. Sick mini-ramp
that curves out with a hip into the little
street area. A bowled corner with cop-
ing. Smooth surfaces and pretty good
trannies. There is a Burger King and a
KFC a stone's throw from the park.
Nope: There is a helmet rule. No real
flow. Tons of kids to dodge. Some use-
less rails and stairs that just get in the
way. 3 out of 10. -Nik Freitas
