Clockwise from top left: If you were trapped on a desert island and
you could only bring three types of street course obstacles with
you, what would they be? Man overboard! George Lamont drops
some acid into the deep end. Tim Upson tailslides to pass the time
until the rescue boat arrives. Just imagine how much rain you could
collect for drinking water with this bowl.

kater Island is located at 1747 West Main Rd,
Middletown, RI, telephone number 401-848-8078,
and Web site located at www.skaterisland.com. The
park was designed by Tom "Twister" Putnam.
As of mid-December, work has begun on the expansion of
Skater Island. It's doubled in size from 8000 to 16,000 square
feet. Twister is back to design and build all the new stuff,
which he hopes will be done by mid-January.
Skater Island will also have two showers and bathrooms,
heat, a sound system, a "catwalk" around parts of the park for
spectators to watch the action from above, and if you're hun-
gry you can go straight out the door and into Fred & Cindy
Smith's Burrito Hut.
