NIKE NACHT
I'm writing in regards to those stupid
Nike commercials that have been aired
during sporting events. Why would Nike
want to get into skateboarding? Sure, it's a
million dollar business, but I will go fuckin'
psycho if Nike starts making boards..
Then all of the little/big skate companies
will be no more, because Nike will make
skating trendy, and we will have jocks
skating to practice in their uniforms.
Five Reasons Why Nike Sucks:
1. They make rollerblades.
2. They are rich.
3. They like jocks.
4. They make crappy shoes that cost over $100.
5. They make rollerblades.

You guys rock! I've only had a subscrip-
tion for a couple of years and have already
noticed great improvements in stories,
photos and just plain quality. Here are a
couple of other things that could use
improvement: centerfolds should be one-
sided so we don't have to take out part of
a story to put a poster on the wall; second,
and maybe this is too preppy, you should
get the magazines binded in the back so
that there aren't only a couple of staples
holding it together. If those things are too
expensive, I'd be happy to spend a few
more bucks on a subscription.

EYE SEE
I started skating at age 14 at Ocean
Bowl in Ocean City, MD. Since then,
I've seen you go through a lot of
changes, along with skateboarding in
general. I've been the sponsored am con-
test and demo whore. I've been the orga-
nizer and skatepark advocate. I've been.
the frustrated ramp owner and burnt-out.
tour dog. I look back on all those "nor-
mal" folks who put me down and never
gave me a chance because I rode a
skateboard and feel sorry for them. I
went on to college and now am in the US
Army as support for the 1st Special
Forces Group (Airborne) and will go back
to college and some day start my own
business. All this, and I'm still punk as
hell in my heart. I just want to tell some
of the worried parents out there that
this dirt bag skater kid grew up with a
skateboard, punk rock and Thrasher, and
did a lot of good. To the younger skaters,
try not to be so serious and burn yourself
out. Life is too short. Forget the roller
dorks, the cops, neighbors, school, girls,
guys, jocks or whatever else that's bum-
ming you. Show them you are righteous
and keep that positive vibe. They're the
fools for judging you.

I love to read your magazine. I've
been reading it now for almost 3
years and really enjoy all the latest
and greatest boards, bearings, wheels
and skaters you have featured. I've
been a skater since I first saw a kid on
his board when I was 6. I've always
been a huge fan of Daewon Song. I
think he is the best skater on this
planet. He has been a big influence.
on my skating. I have always tried to
impress the neighborhood kids by
trying to do some of his tricks. I
want to comment on your "Biggest
Air Ever" issue. I thought it was so
cool that someone would have the
guts to actually jump out of a heli-
copter, risking life and death just for a
thrill. It was amazing. The way your
photographers take pictures is great.
They actually show you step-by-step
how the guys do the tricks so rookie
skaters like me can actually try and
do it. Keep up the great work.

WOODS HOLE
Yes, I am from Kentucky, and no, I
am not a cousin-screwing hick. I just
want to clear that up. Even though
this place is overrun by them, there
are a few of us who skate. So don't
knock us 'cause we're stuck in hell.
Now don't get me wrong, I listen to
punk rock, but I'm really fuckin' tired
what punk is and who is punk. Who
of people writing in to bitch about
gives a fuck! Anyone who worries
about being punk and goes on about
