I was reading your 200th issue when I saw a
letter in Mail Drop by someone's mom who said
that your mag is corrupting our youth's minds.
I'm not the most opinionated man, but I need to
talk about that. I'm back in prison again, and if
if I
would have paid more attention to your mag
and the love of the sport and art, I wouldn't be
doing more time. As it stands now, due to my
uncurbed rebellion, I haven't touched a board
since Vision Psycho Sticks were the shit. It's
mags like Thrasher that give our youth a
chance to fit in and belong. Sure, we used to
raise some hell, but I never thought about
armed robbery while skating. It's the sheer igno-
rance of parents and their inability to communi-
cate with their kids that gives a kid more cause
to be a "bad kid." Any of you lame-ass mothers
reading their son's mags can take a look at me.

body there could give me more
info on Keenan. My call was
taken by Jason Jessee, and after
hearing him laughingly tell the
warehouse, "This kid is doing a
fuckin' report on Keenan," I pro-
ceeded with a few questions. I
got what I needed, and after
countless hours of extensive
Jessee's advice and bullshit the
research, I decided to take
rest. Thanks to Thrasher and
Jason Jessee, I got an "A" on my
report. Who says skate mags
aren't educational?

I'm 17 and have been skating for about 9 yrs
now. Growing up I never had much of a family,
and I guess I used skateboarding as a release,
It was always about me having fun and not hav-
to worry about shit. Then a couple of years
ago, I met some guys, and we all started skating
together. I got caught up in that whole trendy
bullshit a lot of skaters seem to be into these
days. It started to become more about style
than self. I wasn't skating nearly as hard or as
well, but no one seemed to care as long as I
looked good. Things didn't turn around until
one day when I stepped back to take a look at
the situation. I didn't like what I saw, so I did
something about it. Now I'm just ripping up shit,
not giving a fuck, and am having the most fun of
my life. I just wanted to tell my story to remind
all of you kids to keep it real. Don't ever forget
