HAT'S the best thing
you've done in life other
than skating?
I used to think the best thing
was sitting in the pub all day, getting
pissed with a bunch of old men play-
ing cards and dominoes. Then I
thought it was going downtown, get-
ting absolutely wasted, fighting, and
not remembering what I did the
morning after. But I made too many
mistakes that way, things I regret. So,
I guess the best thing I ever did was
travel, because it made me realize
how good things are back home.
Does your dad look like DeNiro,
because that's what I think.
He's a 100% Nottinghamshire
man and still a hard bastard. To put
it another way, I don't know anyone
who'd mess with him or cross him,
But he's almost 60 years old, so I
guess a lot of people have that
respect for him. In the early days.
he was really well-known for fight-
ing in pubs and anywhere else for
that matter. I still hear stories I
didn't know about to this day. He's
