Vertical pool riding was boring until Elguera showed up. Marathon runs, varials, and bionic
fence high airs took skating way beyond the coping. In contrast to the punk rock attitudes of the
day, Eddie's shy demeanor belied his explosive skating. When Eddie took on Duane with Caballero
coming up as an am, the blood and spit did fly. We may never go down that road again.

aka: Nightmare, The Master of Disaster
The turning point of all skating came when Duane started winning contests. This
punker would be drinking beer in the parking lot of the skatepark, his name
would be called, and he would come in and win the fuckin' thing. The marriage
of punk rock and skateboarding has been hanging tough ever since.
