CHAD WONG & THE
OOH LONG DONG

It was only 10:30 and already Big John had
finished fifteen cups of ice-cold Coca Cola.
But his morning had not only been filled with
soda, he also had eaten some of his mom's
homemade granola. Big
John was not called
Big John 'cause he
was tall. Big
John was actu-
ally quite small.
He was fat
and round
like a ball. His best friend was Chad Wong,
who rode for a skateboard team called the Ooh
Long Dong. Big John and Chad Wong had been
best friends and skateboarded since they were
young. Chad Wong was skinny and moved
quickly. His arms were long. Often times,
before being sponsored, Chad Wong rode his
skateboard in thongs. When Chad Wong first
met Big John and saw him skate, he put
away his thongs and put on tennies so
he could skate more like Big John.
Only Big John had liked Chad
Wong 'cause he had skated
in his thongs. But Chad Wong
bought Nikes
so he could
be just like
Big John. Big
John was big and wide and very
strong. He popped ollies fat and
flew very long. This is why Chad
Wong wanted to wear Nikes in
hopes that he could skate like Big
John. This saddened Big John. He
no longer wanted to skate.
Instead, he stayed home and
ate and ate and ate. Chad
Wong called on the phone to Big John: "It is me, Chad Wong,
and I call to ask you to come skate before the Ooh Long
Dong. They are looking for more riders for their team and,
Big John, you are by far one of the best I've seen."
The conversation ended and Big John agreed to go with
the spunky Chad Wong to try out for the Ooh Long Dong.
Big John was drinking up his sixteenth cup when his
doorbell rang. He knew it was Chad Wong, so he slipped
on some thongs and moved slowly for the door. When the
door was opened, Big John was surprised to find that it

AND FLEW VERY LONG
was not Chad Wong, it was his mother's boyfriend,
Uncle Tom. Big John looked to his feet and felt
fright for he knew that the thongs he had on
belonged to Uncle Tom. Uncle Tom slapped Big
John and asked, "Why you wear my thongs?" Big
John said to Uncle Tom. "I'm sorry I wear your
thongs. I wear your thongs to make fun of my
friend Chad Wong. He's coming over right now.
We're going skating to get sponsored by the
Ooh Long Dong. Please, Uncle Tom, I only wore
your thongs to make fun of my friend Chad
Wong. I did not mean to do nothing wrong,"
Big John explained to Uncle Tom. But Uncle
Tom was still angry with Big John for wearing
his thongs. So, this upset Big John, and after a
while Chad Wong showed up and they left and
skated with the Ooh Long Dong. Big John was
so mad he skated his hardest and got on the
team. Now both Big John and Chad Wong rode
for the Ooh Long Dong and have lots of fun.
