After hearing those numbers, it was only
logical that Slurf cash in on this overripe
trendsetting orchard. I quickly formulated a
plan to rape the wallets of middle America.
To hit the jackpot, I had to have photos of
the hottest guys so the mag would go bal-
listic. I was told that the only way to get
photos is to go to a contest where all the
kids hang and hopefully get the shots to
make Slurf sharp enough to stab deep into
the cardioid artery and bring home those
suburban petro dollars.
By chance, there was a contest the fol-
lowing week in Carson (the next town over)
in which all the big guns would participate.
After some leg work, I received a fax that
had the names of the pros who would be in

attendance. By reading another publication,
I made lists of names of the skaters and gave
them to my photo goons with strict instruc-
tions, "Get the money shot, or don't come
back." The names on that list were: Jemery
Ray, Ron Wheely, Wally Standos, Mark John-
osononson, Toy Houk, Chud Munska, Egg
Templdenden, Donny Way, Rock Howhard,
Tom Broush, Mark Valley and Cris Sennovich.
Luckily for my crack photo hounds, they
were smart enough to stand in the right
places, risk bodily injury and exercise their
fingers enough to grab the moment. Hence
the shots that grace these pages. So what
you (the reader) do next is put down this
mag and beg, borrow or steal enough
money and buy the things that are being
worn, ridden and endorsed by these top
notch performers. You will be happy, the
companies will profit, and most of all, I will
get paid. I hear extreme unicycling is really
coming into it's own.

Chud Munska (opposite left) table
tops a smythe grind. Tom Broush
(opposite right) snapped his arm ear-
lier that day but broke out of the
hospital in time for the finals. What a
champion! Two guys, Geouf Roulley
and Arabia Ferbes, (top left) jump for
joy at the same exact moment and
succeed. Mark Valley (above) comes
up backward and ends up going for-
ward off the Everest hip. Wally
Standos (sequence) goes for peanuts
and pulls the the gorilla gripper on
the power wall. Check the commit-
ment on the gold neck chain attack.
