got this tennis court, and it was
totally rad, it was all smooth. He
always had the sickest ramps. He's
getting good now, though. Hanzy
is ripping.
When did everything start hap-
pening for you?
That Boreal contest was the start
of everything. It was fucking rad.
First Wade came up to me and
said, "Hey, dude, are you spon-
sored?" I said, "Nah, not even."
And then Red Dog came up to me
a little bit later and was like, "Hey,
man, I want you to ride for Dog-
town Skateboards," and gave me
this fat ass package-Eric D board,
wheels, the works, shirts and hats
and everything-I was so stoked. I
was so amped. He just set me up.
It was just the beginning of every-
thing, free boards, just so stoked,
like tickled pink.
How did the whole Black Label
deal come about?
Well, Dogtown fell apart, and I
was talking to Keith and John
about riding for their companies
and just, I don't know why I did it, I
just felt like that was where I need-
