bunch of punks. They are doing
this while hiding behind the
openness of skateboarding. I am
sure that there are a lot of good
poseurs out there that just want to
skate to look cool, but the poser
magazines show too many people
having fun. Sure, Thrasher doesn't
promote good standards for the
average little future Harvard stu-
dent, and that's just the way every-
ane likes it. I'm going to go get a
subscription myself.

OUTER SPACE
I just received my May issue of
Thrasher and to my utter shock
and anger, I found a one page arti
cle on Kurtis Head and his down-
hilling crew. This really frosts me. I
can't believe you would print an
article about Kurtis Head who has
done nothing with "downhilling".
for years and has done more to
hurt the sport of "luging" as well
as "skateboarding" with his con-
stant and continuing lawsuits
against Kryptonics and Roger
Hickey. Why would you print an
article about Kurtis Head who
spends no money advertising with
Thrasher and overlook all the years
of effort, dedication and money
that I and UFO have spent to keep
this sport alive by way of maga-
zine, newspaper and television
coverage? We have given Thrasher
Magazine thousands of dollars in
advertising fees over the past
four years, and you have never
printed one article about UFO
other than that one-line, piece of
shit, product report that you did
back in 1991 or whenever it was. It
wasn't a lack on our part to get
into your magazine. We called and
begged you to come to
everything we did for the
past four years: "Please,
come photograph and print
something for us. We need
the publicity and coverage,
and it would also give you
a great article to put in
Thrasher." Your
exact words to me
were, "We can't
really print any
thing is I am 18 and A Powell Movement" thing about road
never knew this. I
passed government and geogra
phy, how I made it through not
knowing this, I don't know. I've
read stories in Thrasher on DC
skaters and skate spots too. I
found out where it was by looking
for it on this US map. I just want to
say fuck everyone for never
telling me, and I think you should
print this because I don't want this
to happen to anyone else. Truth
be known, it isn't my fault. I'm not
that stupid. I just couldn't afford
the DC trip in eighth grade.

Blame your parents. T-ed
luge because it real-
ly doesn't have anything to do
with skateboarding." Then you do
the exact opposite of what you
say. You overlook everything we've
done with "luging" and the money
we have spent advertising in
Thrasher, and print an article about
the one person who's had the
most negative impact on the sport
since "Bloody Sunday" at Signal
Hill. What a slap in the face. As
that article says, "downhilling/road
luge" and "skateboarding" defi
nitely have more in common than
those ridiculous "band reviews"
that you use to fill your magazine.
"Downhilling" evolved from skate-
