long ago: Aerials, slides, reverts,

TURN
bit of Jay-Boy's past.
Adams ain't into the old, never has been. He's
about the now. Currently he lives at Sunset Point
on the island of Oahu. He supports his wife and
kid by patching surfboards. "I don't need a lot
of money," he says." I skate, I surf, and I hang
out with Samantha and Seven Sampson. It's the
basic family deal."
When there are waves, Jay can be spotted
at Sunset, Backdoor and Rocky Rights. Favored
tour spots include Tavarua, Fiji, G-Land, Java,
Lakey Peak, Sumbawa, Puerto Escondido, Mexico
and Uluwatu, Bali. The rap is he goes deep often
and never does it the same way twice.
Ralling activities center around the Pupukea.
Heights hills, Honolulu pools and Sunset Paint
ramp. Kale, Hartsell, Grant and Marky Mark are
often in attendance at the sessions. Free-
thinking pro surfers such as Brad Gerlach and
Cheyne Horan are also known to participate.

Clockwise from top left: In the jaws of a
green monster, Jay steps on the gas and strolls into the zen zone at Puerto. Taking the steep drop at
Paul Revere in '69 on clay wheels shows the thrill seeking came early for Jay. Nowadays, he lives on
the islands and can either be found in the water or slashing hand-down grinds on the local ramp.
Charging the cones at warp speed on Bay Street in Santa Monica, style to die for in '75.
