RAMP WRECKER
I have two girlfriends and they're
both fine, but they are both still so
uptight. I politely suggested one
day that they stand on either side
of my ramp bent over naked so I
could go back and forth, pleasing.
them both at the same time, while
doing some nifty tricks in-between.
They refused and now they are
both mad at me for the suggestion.
What can I do to make them see
the joy of sex and skating?

A week ago I experienced one
of the worst nights of my
life. I lost a pet that
was near and dear
Trolls
to me, saw my best
friend for what she
really is, and had my
house ransacked (all of
which combined for
putting me two steps
away from a complete
mental/physical/emotional
breakdown). There was one
person who was nice to me
and helped me, a complete
and absolute stranger. He listened
to all my tales of woe and sorrow
(and as an experienced student in
the fine art of melodrama I was car-
rying on like nobody's business),
and after rambling for hours, he
didn't even tell me to shut up, not
once. Which is why I'm writing this
letter, if you guys ever have a nice-
guy award, it should go to James
Kelch. He probably doesn't remem-
ber, or if he does I can guarantee
he doesn't care, but I just thought
it'd be rude not to say thanks.

LOST PIZZA
After reading the Rolling Stone
article about Jeff Phillips, I was very.
very sad. Not only because I was
reminded of the death of one of my
heroes, but sad that Jeff had to see
skateboarding in its current state
before he died. Being from a small
state on the East Coast, I always
seemed to identify with Jeff Phillips
and the Texans. They didn't have
jack and neither did we. The act of
skateboarding was the only thing
that mattered. Now I have come
to the point in my life where I must
consider giving up the sport I love.
My knees are destroyed, all the
ramps are gone, and all my money
is going towards college
and living expenses. But
after over ten years of
skating I'm finding I don't
know anything else. I
feel socially stunted. I
want to tell all the kids
not to take skating
too seriously, but
they already don't. I
want to tell them
SEATE RAT TROLL
to just shut up
and skate, but
I'm afraid it would
just blend with all the other
vibes. Vibing used to be a very
important part of skating because it
had a purpose. You had to prove
yourself to all of the older guys. It
wasn't really even vibing, just a little
friendly jeering among friends.
Today everyone vibes everyone. My
sympathy goes out to all of Jeff's
friends and family. I wish more of
the skaters from Jeff's period would
do as much to preserve the old
ways as he did, but I cannot blame
them for not giving a shit. The state
of skating is a desperate one. I hate
it. It makes me sick.
