BRISTOL, CONNECTICUT
Hundreds attended the pro/am contest at CT Bike and Skate. In-line
skaters and BMXers tried to take over but were not successful in dese-
crating the beautiful hardwood floors. The street area was deserted
but the vert skaters were definitely in the house. A newspaper photog-
rapher got hit in the shins.
Typical fashions: Pants-big, hair-short, baseball hat-forward or
backwards (optional), t-shirts and shirts-XL. The people who were run-
ning the contest tried to incite a riot, presumably to promote some
excitement. This one kid who skates really good had cool underwear. It
looked like it had horses wearing raincoats and boots. Kevin, Steve
Roche, Rich and Sanford Lopez, and Victor all tore on the vert ramp. The
judges didn't pay too much attention and one skater disguised himself as
his twin to get an extra run. The announcer couldn't pronounce anyone's
name. Chad Kramer got second. Rich Lopez got first. The Think guys
showed up after the contest was over, gave out free shit, and then left.

Clockwise, from top left: Chod Kramer tears off a little
bit of the channel with a boned frontside flight. In front
of your face, Javier Nunez, switchflip. Steve Roche,
mute to fakie on the other side of the river. Coco,
"What are you lookin' at?"
