Aala Park
Honolulu, Hawall
Erected in the mid-70s on the outer rim of China Town in Honolulu,
Aala Skatepark is famed with local shredders Kai Maioho, Shane Rodriguez,
and their infamous following. The park is asphalt in the center and concrete on the
edges and banks. Side walls with an over-vertical lip also make it a challenge for tech tricks.
Occasionally, you'll get lucky with homemade obstacles, or even the neighborhood trash can. If
you're all about blazing speed or finesse, roll down South Beretania past the Chinese cultural plaza or bust
out eighty-five cents and take a bus from the Ala Moana Shopping Center.
