Who do you ride for?
Consolidated, Venture, Daredevil Wheels,
Airwalk and Ezekiel Clothing.
How did you first get hooked-up?
Well, Karma used to skate the YMCA a lot and
he hooked-up my brother with Dogtown,
Thunder and Spitfire, and then a couple of
months later, he hooked me up. Then a few
months later, Dogtown pretty much went out of
business and Alan and Karma switched over to
SMA and they just flowed me boards, then
Keenan and Birdo started
Consolidated and they asked
me if I wanted to ride for them
and I was fully stoked.
What's it like now in Visalia?
The scene's gotten a little
smaller, but it's pretty rad just
hanging out with your friends
and hitting all the spots.
Visalia's kind of a small town,
so you don't really need a car,
you can pretty much hit up.
every spot in one day. But I
also like to take road trips.
Where would you say skate-
boarding is going?
I think all the smaller compa-
nies are going to start disap
pearing and all the solid com-
panies that are totally down for
skating will start picking up.
What are your fave spots?
I haven't traveled that much,
but I liked hanging out in SF,
there's so many places to skate there. I also had
a rad time skating Burnside in Portland. Me,
Alan and Karma slept in the bowls and skated all
day. I hope to do a lot of traveling this summer.
What's it like having a younger brother to
skate around with?
It's not only someone to skate with, I also just
kick back in my room and hang out with him. It's
so much fun, when I feel like skating, I always i
have someone to skate with. I wouldn't know
what it would be like not to have him around.
Do you skate with him every day?
No, not all the time. Sometimes I'll be at one
spot and he will be at another and when I see
him at night, we'll talk about what we did all day.
Who do you usually skate with?
The whole VSL crew, Richard, Tonito, Dale,
Johnny, Nanda and JTL. There's not too many
people to skate with here that like to skater
everything. There's a lot of people that skate,
but only one thing like flatground or curbs, but I
like to skate everything. When the YMCA had
vert ramps I would skate practically every day.
What happened to those ramps?
We just woke up one day and they were gone,
they just chainsawed them down. We were all
totally tripping. They were brand new and they
were gone. It sucks not having a public place to
skate because every place seems like a bust.
Do you get harassed by the cops?
Totally. When we skate by the mall we always
get chased. There's also this meter maid who
harasses us every time we skate Main Street.
Have you ever gotten a ticket or ever been
arrested for skating?
No, but I'm waiting for the day, I know it's
going to happen. Some of them seriously have
nothing better to do than harass us
Is your mom supportive of your skating?
Yeah totally. She's usually always behind what
I want to do. Right now she's trying to see what
she can do about building a public skatepark.
What kind of music do you like?
I pretty much grew up listening to rap and
that's all the music I really listen to.
What would you say
has been one of your
biggest achievements?
When I ollied the Four
at Wallenberg. There
were hundreds of peo-
ple there and I was just
checking it out and
Roger Sellinier just said, "You can do it," and I
was like, "I don't know," and after about six or
seven tries, I finally pulled it. I was stoked.
People were lifting me off the ground, my body
was totally wrecked and I got money. It was one
of the best feelings ever. That was about a year.
and a half ago. I can't even believe Markovich
tried to kickflip it.
What are your future plans?
When Karma and Alan get back from
Australia, I plan on moving up north, maybe San
them and my buddy, Tonito
Francisco or Berkeley, and getting a place with
Is there anyone you want to thank for helping
you out along the way?
My mom, Keenan, Birdo and Jason at Consol-
idated, Greg at Venture, Airwalk, Ezekiel
Clothing, Ray Dillon at Juggs, Karma, Alan,
Richard, Dale, Tonito, Lance and everyone else.
