Is every skater an artist? If you!
ask Aaron Rose, the answer
will be yes. After all, he has
more than fifty skater-signed
works hanging on the wall.
And, for the second time, he
brought "An Exhibit of Skate-
boarding Art" to the public eye.
It was late August, in a hidden
alley in Hollywood, among as-
sorted ramps and skateboard-
ing history. Featuring works of
skaters and/or artists such as
Mel Bend, Mark Gonzales,
Matt Hensley, Lance Mountain,
Pushead, Ed Templeton, Haze,
Crush, Robert Williams and
others not-so-famous. Every-
thing related to skateboarding
even somewhat "artistic" was
represented including stickers,
t-shirts, decks, posters, original
art, magazines and sculptures,
Most of them were for sale, with
prices as low as $3.00 (for a
rare Del Mar Skate Ranch stick-
er) and as high as $400,000 (for
a skateboard painted by The
Gonz himself).
