Amp Hit Theatre
Annenberg, W. Philly, PA
Higher education takes on new meaning
for shifty skaters flying around the courtyard amp-
hitheater at the University of Philadelphia. The slate
banks and benches on campus have been home to
mega-sessions for over ten years. Local vet Roger
Browne heaves a bank to bank channel olie.

The barred door slammed shut behind
him. Clang! His warrants had finally caught with
him. When Chef heard that noise, he felt free-
dom slip away from his grasp. A tear came to
his eye as memories of his past started dashing
through his mind. He remembered his days in
the kitchen, making all of those gourmet dishes
after a good session. He'd make everything and
anything a skater wanted. He was popular with
his buddies in that way. Either he would cook at
his place or at a friend's house. He always did
the cooking and he loved it. He was the best at
it. Ah yes, those days of freedom. He would cer-
tainly miss them. But most of all, he would miss
waking up in the morning, seeing Martha hover-
ing over the toaster, Watching it pop up, sneak-
ing up behind her, grabbing it and saying....
LEGGO MY EGGO
•1 eggo waffle
a bunch of peanut butter
small handful of peanuts
*some syrup (make sure its not real maple)
• 1 tsp. of butter
glass of milk
Toast waffle until golden brown. While toasting,
finely chop the peanuts. Take the waffle out of
the toaster. Butter it. Then slop lots of peanut
butter on it (don't be shy) and apply the syrup.
Then sprinkle the chopped peanuts over the
waffle. Serve with a glass of milk, skarf. (Chris
Hammond of Seattle, WA)
LETTER FROM THE SLAMMER
Sitting here in the Grey Rock Inn as a guest of
the Department of Corrections, I've been fed
some downright nasty entrees over at the chow
hall. So whenever they try to feed us liver fiesta
or BBQ pork (ground up hot dogs), we throw
together what's called a Breakdown. If you
know anybody that's in prison or been there,
you've probably heard of it. It tastes damn good
and can be mixed in a trash bag or large bowl.
BREAKDOWN
•2 pkgs. Ramen noodles
1 can tuna (or other meat)
2 large jalapeños
•1 can of chili
hot cheese dip
crushed corn chips
bread
mayonnaise
Cook noodles and drain. Chop up tuna and
jalapeños (with the tuna lid). Mix this with the
chill. Add a couple spoons of cheese, a spoon
of mayo and enough crushed chips to make it
sticky, but not too dry. Heap it on bread to make
sandwiches and indulge. Actually, you can
throw anything in that's edible. (Mike Moore of
the Dayton Correctional Institute, OH)
A culinary god and a general all-around
swinging guy. The Chef is also concerned
about you: the confused and pissed-off
skater. So with that in mind, here's a sugges-
tion for something that'll feed your head
while you're stuffing your face. Read Slam
by Lewis Shiner. It's got anarchist skaters,
real angst and a non-bogus attitude. Oh
yeah, if you read while you eat, don't let food
drip on the book. Use a bib. Until next time,
