Hey!...come back here... Those seem to be the only words you hear
on the streets these days-not exactly words of encouragement.
Skaters learn to deal with it, or ignore it. We're not out to fight the
world. We would rather be left alone like anybody else going about
their business. Just because skaters do their business on a curb or
bench in the mall at rush hour is no reason to get bent. After all, this
is America, in the nineties, during an election year. Ugly, white
politicians are spewing at the mouth, foaming up promises. Another
year of, "Read my lips." Up in Davis, California, the city built a public
cement skatepark, "for the kids. Just before opening day ceremonies
they flipped out about liability. "Somebody might get hurt." They said.
Of course somebody might get hurt. That's life. So the cops decide
