and hit my nose on the beam. I was going too fast
and instead of my board hitting it, my head was
going to hit it so I reached out and grabbed the
beam. Because I was carving, my body swung out
and it made me dive head first into the pool onto
my shoulder and neck. I was swimming in the air.
What would you change in today's skating?
I would make more people aware of how much
fun vert ramps are. I've done both, and I really dig
the vert

Two men and two women were arrested in Paul Kane Park in Ontario, Canada, after they ac-
costed a group of skateboarders and then attacked them. The trouble started for the twenty
Strathacona High School students when four adults began calling them "skinheads," "white
trash" and "white supremacists Things got ugly when the instigators asked to borrow the
skaters' boards and the skaters said no. James Chan, 16, who was punched in the jaw during the
melee, said that one adult even used a skateboard as a weapon against one of the kids. "They
