OUTGROWING PAINS
California Sports Shop's touring team
from Greece, New York, is rumored to
be heading to where else but California
for a weekend skate trip.
Truer than sad. Clip joint provocateurs

and Dennis Polak are perhaps not
involved, but who can we blame for Ger-

hair styles?

Question 11: Will Block, Hosol, and
Boo-Yaa tribesman King/Rook appear
together in an upcoming major motion
picture? Were all three of these authen-
tic types eagerly sought after by studio
types for a fourth world action feature?
Question 12: Is Randy Fontaine the
not-so-secret alter ego of a major team
manager and company promotional
man? Is Fontaine somehow connected
to a bizarre disengagement plot?
Question 13: Which somewhat cryptic
skate media writer was so stricken in a
posh San Diego restaurant by the tropi-
cal malady black water fever that several
affiliates of another mag promptly began
dispensing drug/alcohol overdose sto-
ries. A girlfriend/dinner guest of a promi-
nent clothing company mogul figured it
"had to be heroin."

include finishing off his '51 Ford Woody

GSD's luxuriant '86 Toyota pickup was
stolen, and the completely stripped
frame was found at the bottom of a 400
foot canyon. Needless to say, Gary is
once again relying on his skate for sole
transportation. Reportedly, he views this
as a "tremendous improvement."

What does skating mean to you?
Good times, hanging with your friends and
being part of something.
What are you riding right now!
An Everslick Alan Petersen, Indy 15%,
Bullet BB's and the smallest risers around.
Have you ever knocked anyone out?
I hit this East Bay speed freak so hard one
time that he was unconscious standing up.
What is the most money you have ever
made in a month?
Over $2,000.
Define pain.
There are different types of pain. Slapping
your hand on some really cold cement on a
30 day is really excruciating. Hanging up
top to bottom on a ten-foot ramp is a differ-
ent kind of pain. That pain comes from the
inside out.
What would you change in skateboarding?
The way riders are treated like the lowest
form of life, the pawns of the industry.
What are your favorite bands:
Slayer, Black Flag, Black Sabbath and
Motörhead.
Are you close to your parents?
It seems like my parents tried to motivate
me through negativity. It really pissed me
off. It made me want to go skate.
