THUNDER
THE NEW THUNDER "STORM SERIES 155MM & 160MM.
A NEW BREED OF STRENGTH AND LIGHTNESS.
THUNDER TEAM RIDERS

Backyard Bandidos
The legend continues after more than fifteen years of unmatched pool
poaching. A couple of Sacto's notorious N-Men pose with evidence of
one year's bounty. Names withheld to protect the guilty.
INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH
Andrew Curry, much-fabled 16-year
old editor of the Oz mag Slam, is report
edly on his way to USA. Sponsor/train-
er/coconspirator Skip Engblom is
characteristically silent and presumably
still down in old Mexico at his oceanfront
skate complex. Other SMA types such

less. Sometime Engblom associate Jim
Phillips (artist and graphics innovator) is
paradoxically drawing illustrations for ex-
Surfer Magazine publisher Steve Pez-
man's much talked-about Underground
Surfers' Journal. The point being, that
Curry's former editor at Slam was one
Mike Perry, who was, of course, a life-
time Skipperboy Posse member and for-
mer Pezman editor himself.
The maddest hatter? Steve Rocco,
world leader and media assassin, now
rumored deep into hats. Word is that
American-built, quality Tocco-styled
hats will soon fall from Mr. Steve's
latest clothes-making endeavors.
Question Two: Are certain other
surf/skate clothing types openly
knocking off Ghetto Wear and
exporting it for sale in pseudo-
Hawaiian surf shops?
Sad, but true.
SKATE TRIPPERS
Alan Petersen is contending
for greatest tour mileage logged
during 1991.
Australian surf/skate renegade
Kai Fitzgerald was severely
injured in a car wreck in Spain
and is literally hung up in the
spinal care unit. His family and
friends are laboring to safely
transport him back to Oz.
Rob Dyrdek is reportedly move
man of the month. This rep is due in
part to the def deluxe moves seen in
the Alien Workshop video.
Top New York move master Fred
Gall, who made a few converts
after his third place blitz in the
nationals, has been burning it
up at the semi-slammed Brook-
lyn banks. Traffic was stopped
at rush hour recently by people
hanging over the catwalks to
see Fred work it out.
Bucky Lasek is moving much
better following his knee blow-
out during the Münster madness
German gig. Also along for tail-
wagging is Lasek's new long hair
Sharpei puppy, Cuma.
MEDIA WRONG OF
THE MONTH
Once again, who could-
excuse the tasteless skate pan-
dering of Bart Simpson, this
time doing rock and roll slides on
the head of the Lincoln Monu-
ment. Perhaps equally deserving
credit/blame for Bart's assault on
the middle American consciousness is
