RICKY
HIGGINS
Since he lives in Santa
Barbara, the vast play-
ground of the Powell-
Peralta Skate Zone is at
Ricky's disposal. Exploit-
ing this advantage to the
utmost degree makes
"you're on it' the words
he most yearns to hear.
He digs the styles of Chris
Miller, Jason Lee and
Mark Gonzales, convulses
to the tunes of Bad
Religion, Minor Threat
and Black Flag, and grubs
the delicacies of pizza
and Mexican food.
Four-and-a-half years of
skate experience have
taught Higgins to savor
ollie nose grinds, ollie
nose blunts and
backside ollie tailgrabs.
Pursuing the finer details
of poetry and motion are
Donger's key pursuits. He
ollies this and ollies that
around the San Diego
vicinity and listens to fast,
funk, junk and punk
music. Any food tastes
good when he's hanging
with his homies and
fulfilling his goal "to be
happy all my life." Check-
ing the moves of Hosoi,
Hensley and Sal, the
Donger waxes poetic,
"Highlight the mind
instead of its cover.
Take time to find
rather than suffer."

WILLY M.
SANTOS
Whatever a kickflipphino
is, Willy Santos delights in
doing it. He also craves
going fast and concoting
strange nougats-to-tail.
With one-third of his
fifteen years devoted to
board riding, Willy has
the world at his feet and
burritos, Mom's food,
and burnt fish in his
stomach. His goals are to
watch TV, stay home with
his parents and play in his
marching band. A
meandering musician at
heart, Willy listens to
anything but John's tunes
and plans to keep
skating, doing his
homework and bugging
people all around.
Thrusting ever faster
through new school
moves tainted with the
old, skating is a habit
Todd can't shake. He
listens to anything fast,
grubs Arby-ques and digs
Chris Miller, Buster Halter-
man and Ed Templeton.
One of the rowdier
residents of Greenville,
SC, Todd's favorite tricks
include the words
frontside and speed.
Powered by fun, this
twenty-year-old
astronaut has only
one complaint:
"Hippers suck."

ERIK
NOLTE
Sailing valiantly over a
blacktop arena, Erik
Nolte lifts one-footed
ollies to breathtaking
heights. He listens to the
searing sounds of Bad
Religion and minds the
moves of Matt Hensley
and Mark Gonzales.
Moreno Valley is the burg
Nolte localizes, and he
Syrates 360 kickflips with
fourth-year finesse.
Rolling heartily and
savoring the glide, one
eye is focused on the pro
ranks and the other is on
the next trick. Nolte
leaves behind the cryptic
message "skate save,"
and rides yonder
into the sunset.
At age eight, Stacey went
down a hill, got speed
wobbles and slammed
into a wall. It's been
downhill ever since.
Stacey craves the solitary
rush of pillaging gnarly
spots like Wallos, Studio
43, Phelps' Ramp, pools,
hills in S.F. and curbs. His
favorite skaters are Miller,
Duane, Gonz, Royce, BK,
Jake, Christian, Sargent,
Tershay, Shawn Martin
and TG. He doesn't mind
the pain he occasionally
encounters on life's
roadways. After awhile, it
even starts to feel good.
