BURL SCHOOL
In my language class we had an
assignment to make a list of things
for a utopian school." The list is as
follows: Pro shop in the office, no
stairs one level, plywood/concrete
floors, lunch any time you're
hungry, skatepark in the gym,
teachings of skateboarding and
proper maintenance school from
12:00 to 6:00 p.m., free to leave
anytime to skate all available
terrain (as long as you have a
skate pass), auditorium for demos,
professional skaters would be
teachers and principals, punish-
ment for those who disrupt the
contests or demos, obstacles in
halls such as curbs, launches,
railslides, benches etc., decks and
other parts given for awards, and of
course skate to class.

Africa and I must say that it has
made many skaters' hearts pretty
happy. Because we are South
African, we are deprived of all this,
so I had to say thanks.

in the Persian Gulf, in some of the
strictest cultures in the world, I still
see kids skating. It warms my heart
to see that the spirit is alive in
every country I visit. The kids are
always willing to bridge the culture
gap and just skate!

I've recently been sponsored by
a senior citizen's home. I set up a
halfpipe there and an 80-year-old
man did a McTwist. We've made
up a team of 80-90 year old skaters
and have just sponsored an 87.
year-old lady who loves to do gay
twists and fakies. We'll probably
break up the team, though,
because everyone calls them old
school. Get it? Ha! Ha! Ha!

SAD TRUTH
I would like to say that you can't
believe what you read or hear in
the news. I should know, my little
sister (along with two other girls)
was murdered earlier this year in
cold blood. The press had a job to
do and that was to report about a
triple murder. Sure, they reported
what they knew, but they also
reported what they thought to be
true. Few people know how it feels
to have a loved one stolen from
their lives. Let's just say there is no
way to prepare for the emotional
rollercoaster that follows the reality
of such a tragedy. Gator is of
course innocent until proven guilty.
but if he is found guilty of murder
there is no sentence a judge can
hand down that will bring that girl
back. There is nothing lower in this
world than a murderer.
