I made a two-foot hand with the
middle finger sticking up and
brought it to a school basketball
game. The whole school laughed
their butts off at it, except for our
athletic director, Ken. He sen-
tenced me to six hours of in-school
suspension, so I read the newest
issue of Thrasher. The only thing
is, it was too short. My advice is to
make your issues longer so that us

skating.

The other day I was approaching
the corner where there's a sturdy
six-stair handrail. I started to work
up a little speed and stoke myself
up. Bang! I was on the rail and
sliding. It felt great. Just as I
was about to land, this crazy
jerk with a gym bag comes
running out in front of me.
Kapow!!! We crashed into
each other. As he lay there
gasping for breath, I grabbed
my skate and took off as fast
as I could, not wanting to
know the outcome.
For the next couple of days I tried
to lay low. Then about three days
after my incident I was skating
around town and saw these cops.
They looked at me and I looked at
them. The chase was on. To make
a long story short, after many.

I'm a skater living in
Bahrain in the Persian
Gulf, and in the February
1991 issue there are four
letters griping about the
Middle East skate scene.
I admit it's not the hottest
scene, but it isn't as bad
as they make it out to be.
Yes, there are sadly no skateable
pools and just as sadly there are
no punk shows, but there are a
couple of ramps and on the week-
end after a week's hard skating
and school, the beer flows like
Niagara Falls. At the moment, it is
the perfect weather for skating, not
too hot and a nice cool breeze. The
temp-erature rarely reaches 120' in
the middle of the summer. As for
the women, there are plenty if you
look in the right places. I appreciate
that the servicemen who have
written in are probably stuck at the
front line in the middle of the
desert, but they shouldn't slag off a
skate scene they don't know
anything about.
