KEVIN RUCKS
"GRIND!" So speaks this twenty-two-year-old
Orange County crusher of 'crete. He learned the
meaning of this all-important word ten years
ago from benevolent burlster Bob Serafin at Big
O Skatepark. Since then he has practiced heavy,
solid, high-speed skating from the Salba, Malba,
Mountain school as often and as intensely as
possible. A strict vegetarian with a burning
passion for the toughest, most enjoyable sport
in the world, Kevin plans to skate, draw and
make the earth a better place to live.
MIKE TAYLOR
Four years ago, this dedicated soul started.
abusing the scorched streets of Chandler,
Arizona and he hasn't stopped since. Inspired by
Matt Hensley, Gator, Tim Galvin and Jay Lee,
Mike skates everything and loves it all. In fact,
his main goal in life is to keep skating every day,
and to keep progressing on all terrains. Bad
Brains, Morrissey, Public Enemy, salad and
spaghetti are the icing on Mike's cake, but his
main love is the rush of freedom and control he
gets from a good kickflip grab or an ollie-to-
nollie trick. Mike's last words on the subject?
"Skateboarding is the only way to be truly
happy. Knee injuries ruin lives."
MIKE BARNES
If you don't like speed, grinds, slides, airs,
the Chrome Domers, Anthrax, Fear,
spaghetti from the Deli of Death and Bud-
weiser, then get the hell out of Mike's
way. He's a twenty-three-year-old Santa
Ana, CA, psycho who has been skating
for a decade and will continue to do so,
even if he becomes a punk rock star (his
other goal in life). A philosopher at
heart, Mike explains his desire to roll
and rule by asking the all-important
question, "Why not?" Oh, by the way,
C.O.D. rules.
