OF THE SKATE WORLD

cross the ages, skate fiends
have always had a feel for fine details that the clueless multitudes have never quite comprehended. Aboard a board, architectural
design, material and craftsmanship take on utterly altered meanings. Thus, a coping connoisseur is able to detect subtle variations
in concrete composition and a vertical veteran can sense transitions that approach true perfection. Taken together, the sum total of
such smooth rolling equations allow experienced board mongers to pronounce judgement on a completed structure's ultimate
usefulness and supreme skatealogical value.
With such specialized criteria in mind, an exhaustive search of the most famed spots the human strain has ever ridden was
conducted. The goal was to discover those monuments presiding at the top of the crop, according to their historical, cultural and
skateable importance. The project required considerable deliberation, but when the cream of these dreams was ultimately skimmed
off, a skater's seven was the result. Ladies and germs, we are pleased to present
THE GREAT SNAKE DITCH OF THE HIMALAYAS
At the top of the world, where icy winds blow and abominable snowmen hang there stretches the
longest section of downhill banks skatekind has ever known Carved by ancient glaciers, this
magnificent expanse of transitional ditch twists as far as the eye can see. When it ain't submerged in
snow, this aged snake run is a fast and workable wonder that blows doors on any piece of concrete in
any skatepark, ever. But then, when the Great Ditch does lie covered under a blanket of powder
white, it's wise to take cue from the local Sherpas and replace thine trusty skate with a quick and slick
Himalayan mountain snowboard
