ure, Dave Warne would love to
pump a lengthy pool carve or slash a fat
cement coping grind, but he'll also be happy
with a downhill speed shot, a wicked moped
fow, a grass run or some slappable curbs,
especially if Chris Lowe, Wade Speyer, or
Brian Frostad is there. A nineteen-year-old
Danville, CA resident with five years of rip-
ping under his belt, Dave hopes to go to
college, get a business degree, and be
married with children in five years. In the
meantime, he'll keep taking long road trips
with Zep, Beatles, the Cult and the Red Hots
cranked on the stereo, a cooler full of Cokes
and pb&j sandwiches in the back, stopping
wherever he can to fish, surf, skate new
spots and meet new people.

ut twenty-seven-year-old Claremont, CA local John Nakama on a plank
and you can bet he'll be wearing a smile within seconds, regardless of
whether nearby skate terrain is vert, flat or anywhere in between. You see,
John is one of those versatile maniacs who will abuse any available
substance as long as the fish tacos are hot and the tunes are loud,
hard and fast. John would be singing the blues (another favorite musical
form) if Christian, the Albas, Duane Peters and Chris Robison didn't skate,
but he'd still probably be able to achieve his goal in life: to drink more
beer and eat as many fish tacos as possible. Photo: Chris Ortiz.
