clandestinely installed in an unnamed Long

runs that Tracker Larry is said to be involved
with. (When last heard of, Mr. Balma's N-1
BMW sled was involved in further Frank
Fahey modifications.) No word yet as to what
purpose these banzai runs serve. (Did some-
one mutter something about Steve Langus,
Claude Le Louche and a Ferrari Boxer in
Paris at five in the morning? Hmm.)
Question One: Will Tracker Larry meet.
Indyman V on the aforementioned slot car
track of dreams in Long Beach? Will Chuck
Stevens and Dave Dominy of Cutter be there
also? Did an unnamed source mention
something about a good-spirited Ermico
foundry go-kart challenge in the immediate
future? Worst of all, is it possible that George
Powell is hosting a bandit fruit crate steel-
wheeled skate scooter grand prix? What's
really disturbing is the possibility that most
of this is true!
From our perpetual motion crime and
punishment file: Can it be true that Limp-
ster Chip Morton has taken to dispensing
legal advice? Did he successfully plot lovely
Winter Rosebud's defense strategy after the
lass was allegedly charged with stealing a
life-sized mermaid from a hotel facade? Did
Morton also manage to negotiate a truce with
extremely irate neighbors following the Snake
Ranch naked ping pong tourney? Further
inuendo has Chip purportedly
seeking permits from the city of
Del Mar for another Ranch
regatta. D.M. 19. Por vida.
Oz youth Dom Kekitch is very much
on top from down under. On a recent blitz
tour of Cal., Dom was seen McTwisting
with mate Bucky Lasek as the pair
proved boys have more fun. One after-
noon session at Park McGill (featuring
other players like Danny Way) will be
talked about for years. Also impressive
in the immediate vicinity on separate
occasions were Omar Hassan, Jesse
Roach and M.C. Ren.
Sometime skate documentarian and
legendary lensman Glen Friedman has
been picking up international exposure
during the debacle surrounding the ap-
parent end of Public Enemy. G.E.F., who
shot the influential early Enemy album
covers and video has been cited as an ex-
ample of the group's open-minded employ
ment practices. Meanwhile, defense types
are calling for blood based on the allegedly
anti-semitic comments of Professor Griff.

When last heard from, Mr. Ed Riggins was
crafting a vintage scoot for Eddie Junior
while Fausto V. was blueprinting his limited
edition for further roadwork. Now word has
it that Balma sold his racing Honda Intercep-
tor and has scored a Sportster. Never one
to be outdone, Brad "I've Got a '47 Harley
in My Living Room" Dorfman has obtained
another new H.D. which he supposedly rode
around the block once and then ordered a
performance re-build from a local guru.
Did Steve Alba wear a good luck charm
around his neck at the NSA Vans comp? (see
photo) When an unnamed hexer touched the
lucky piece just before Salba's qualifying run
did Screamin' Lord faceplant-to-flat bottom?
Skatemaster Tate has been recording
again with eminent coastal engineer Dennis
Dragon. As reported elsewhere, Chuck
Treece, Peralta, Tay Uler, etc. were also
involved. Curiously, now Michael Cook is
mixing down some ultra-esoteric grooves
with Lead-O Bob. As to why, who knows?
Imagine the surprise of Frankie Hill, Chris
Borst, Ray Barbee and Lance Mountain
when they arrived late at the Green Bay,
Wisconsin, airport to meet Tony Hawk and
Underhill only to see a DC-8 jet engulfed in
flames out on the runway. Thinking the worst,
our heros were pleased to discover that the
blaze was a fire department exercise and that
Ray and Tony's plane was late.
