I'm staring at a new Second Cal-
lege Edition of the American
Heritage Dictionary. It states that a
skateboard is a short, narrow board
having a set of rollerskate wheels
mounted under it. In the picture is
it was clear that there was no way
you could have come here to do the
story. You make it sound like a
miserable place with no spots. I ve
skated in six states, and Portland is
second only to Arizona, and only
because AZ nas more popis. Came
on, Brian and Danny, what about the
Crest and Terwilliger downhills or the
Tigard Cinemas? How about the
King City planters or the Park
blocks? And ramps like Brady's
min? Skaters like Bill B. Bret and
Acam M. deserve more credit.
There's a hell of a lot more to Port
land than most people think, and if
you think it sucks then you're get

My dad has a brand new Porsche
that gets washed and waxed every

wheels off my board. He told me the
only way I could get them back was
to "regain his trust." So I used the
best strategy I could think of, and that
was to take the wheels off his new
911. When my parents were sleep-
ing, I put the car on jacks and
removed all four wheels. I took them
over to my friend's house and put
them in his garage. The next morn-
ing when he discovered his car miss-
ing $1,200 mags, my father asked
me if I had stolen the wheels off his
car. We soon came to an agreement
and exchanged wheels
