            ON BOARD
etc. at the Mann's Chinese Theatre premiere
of the movie "Dream a Little Dream"? Worse
yet, has Spidey turned cinema critic? Does
he now filmspeak in terms like "a cute, funny,
romantic comedy that is worth seeing"?
Is Tumbleweed Ancell recording a live
album at Club King King with Johnny Ray,
Tom Waits, Dave Alvin, etc.? Is B.Ware
involved?
Is the NSA Savannah Slamma III the official
start of the new regime? Wasn't a current
organizational board director type locked out
of his hotel room nude at a previous
Slamma? Fortunately,
under the new NSA, such
conduct is no longer
tolerated.
Which so-called board
maker has become.
paranoiacally obsessed to
the point where he ac-
tually believes that rival
manus are conspiring to
"rub him out"?
Is Tony Hawk recover-
ing from complicated.
knee surgery and subse-
quent infection? Is Barry
Zaritsky functioning as
H's full time rehabilitative
trainer? Were Sarge,
Ridge, Cindy, Cap and
Richard Metiver under fire again? Is the
Speed Wheels advertising campaign under
investigation by England's Advertising Stan-
dards Authority Limited? Is the following
block of copy Exhibit A?:
Basis of Complaint: Five members of the
public objected to a full-page colour adver
tisement headlined "INTRODUCING
SLIMEBALL VOMITS." The advertisement
depicted a young man vomiting a skateboard
wheel with the caption "Spewage odor." The
complainants considered the advertisement
to be revolting and offensive.
BOARD OF THE MONTH
Conclusion: Complaint
upheld. The advertisers.
stated that their adver
tisements were geared to
skateboarders in the 10-20
age group and they did
not, therefore, consider the
advertisement likely to be
found offensive by the
majority of those likely to
see it. They had received
no complaints from this
age group and the com-
plaints received (from the
USA and Great Britain)
had been primarily from
those in the 35-50 age
group. The Authority ac-
knowledged the existence
of a skateboarding sub-culture, but
nonetheless considered that the graphic
depiction of a person vomiting was offensive
and unacceptable.
Victim of a muni bus in SF.
Blockhead Dave all present at the tense
hospital vigil? Did not Tony skate under
intense pain in Honolulu? Is the U.S. Infor-
mation Agency exhibiting a Tony Hawk model
behind the iron curtain as an "example of
American consumer culture""?
Hmmm-is there not a thriving skate
underground in the U.S.S.R.? Is the Soviet
Government close to recognizing skateboard
riding as an approved "sport"? Is a certain
Santa Barbara-based manu quietly flowing
equipment to certain hot iron curtain ragers?
Was the wife of this manu an actual acquaint-
ance of a certain former Red headman?
Does this manufacturer actually employ fully
accredited Soviet translators on his personal
staff? Do Soviet mayors and assorted
diplomats actually venture to Santa Barbara
to tour the unnamed manu's clubhouse
board building complex?
Has Paul Schmitt taken up skydiving with
a passion? Is he seriously thinking of join-
ing the army to jump for a living?
Did Robert Williams sell out his recent art
exhibition before the doors even opened?
Were not collectors offering thousands over
face value to be able to re-buy one of
Robert's current works?
Is that tireless defender of art and morality

Was reputed skate documentarian Glen
E. Friedman not observed hanging with
family friend Sidney Poitier at the American
Museum of Moving Images gala? What ever
happened to G.E.F's much touted Tom
Groholski interview? Was Friedman visible
on national TV talking with Malcom Forbes
at the museum affair? How will Public
Enemy interpret these bizarre activities?
