The Crumbsuckers have parted ways with vocalis Chris Nataro due
to the band's dissatisfaction with Chris' inability to deal with the more
"traditional metal" direction they claim to be headed in. Chris was more
interested in the band's earlier hardcore days.... English thrashers
Onslaught have replaced long-time frontman Sy Keeler with ex-Grim
Reaper vocalist Steve Grimmett. He made his European debut as the
band toured England during the Christmas season and is currently lay
ing down vocal tracks for their upcoming Search for Sanity Lp.... Ex-
Whiplash/Slayer/Zero Hour/Ludichrist drummer Tony Scaglione has
recently joined up with Raging Slab. Motorhead producer Bill
(Orgasmatron) Laswell is currently in the studio with premer NYC
catharsis crew White Zomble for their third, decidedly more metallic
Lp. Iggy Pop has been recruited for back-up vocals. Bad Brains
have signed with Caroline for an album to be leased early this year.
...The Cro-Mags have finally settled on a line-up. It includes the crew
who recorded Age of Quarrel minus vocalist John Joseph. The much-
delayed second Lp, Best Wishes, will be out in March Prong will
be recording a cover of Chrome's "Third from the Sun for a 7" that
will be released before their upcoming European tour.... Ex-Dag Nas-
ty/DYS vocalist Dave Smallee has left his latest outfit, All, to continue
his fore a relations education. He will still be involved with music,
however, by jamming with a lew LA area musicians. Has anybody
picked up on the fact that Circus of Power's Alex Mitchell was at one
me vocalist for Florida/NYC hardcore greats Crucial Truth? Nuclear
Assault were recently paid a large quantity of cash by their label, IRS,
to record, believe it or not, the Haney Days theme they will soon start
working on aerial for a new album due out soon A new, yet untitled
Love & Rockets Lp will be released in April. Quebec's Voi Vod will
be aslong ex-Dead Kennedy Jello Biafra to cibule vocals on a cover
of the Klave "Holiday in Cambodia." This song Shound appear on
their upcoming The Nothing Face, on MCA's Mechanic label,
Chuck Treece is currenay playing guitar for Underdog. The band is
working on an Lp for an undetermined label. More new releases
in a store near you: The Cult's e Son Temple Replacements' Don't
Tell a Soul, Throwing Muses' Huk Papa and Lou Reed's New York
(rumored to be his best ever). The Hangmen have washed record-
ing their debut Lp Watch for release in March April. Screamin'

soon. Haggis (ex-Cult, ex-Zodiac Mindwarp bassist) has landed a
record deal with Geffen for his new band Four Horsemen. Haggis plays
guitar in this band. They'll be moving from their base in New York to
live and record in L.A. While U2 was re-mixing and re-recording
their new album at A&M's famous recording studio, the following events
occurred: Bono kicked a member of the Nymphs out of the studio for
hanging a B.A. at them because, "It's not proper behavior for the studio"
U2 whined about injustice and poor people, then rented a Bel Air man-
sion and, not just Ford Tempos, but '56 T-Birds in mint condition.....
Relativity is re-releasing, on CD only, six classic T-Rex slabs, namely:
The Slider, Tanx, Zinc Alloy, Bolan's Zip Gun, Dandy in the Underworld
and Futuristic Dragon. Exodus' new Lp Fabulous Disaster should
be out by now, but it's being held up by a release rights battle between
Combat (Exodus's old label) and Captiol (their new label). It is a cross-
ing of styles from their first and second Lp's. Speaking of style, the band's
vocalist reportedly lost sixty pounds in two months to avoid splitting his
pegged pants and keeling over while on tour... Combat will begin
another new label called Strategic with releases coming out at a lower
price. Keep your eyes and ears open for a blazing new Circle Jerks
live album, coming soon to a record store near you.
