MAGAZINE
Well, there you have it-a fine assortment of legendary covers. Some are old, some are new, but they all required
extraordinary effort to acquire. A close knit network of skate-zines has been emerging from the desks of crafty
skaters worldwide. Study then and you will see why the Smithsonian Institute has recently reserved a whole file
with the intent of honoring zines. Speculators have not yet been able to estimate the worth of this collection,
however an astonishing sun is sure to be calculated.
Hired hands are currently searching for the first underground skate sine to find out how far it all dates back.
They took second glances at The Quarterly Skateboarder, which began in 1965 and later evolved into Skateboarder
Magazine, but these were far from zines. Therefore, if you can provide any evidence of a bonafide skate rag chronicling
60's skate discovery, early 70's skate discouragement, or late 70's blowout, please contact the Institute A.S.A.P.
Soon enough, resourceful ones will further solidify this movement by creatively converting skate energy into
zines of their own. It's an honor and sometimes even an obligation for a zine editor to spread his mind on his
hallowed pages, to share and to trade. Therefore, sine brothers unite!
