Glenn Danzig up front with the crowd at one of the first two shows with his new band "Danzig." Their Lp is out. Now watch for a 12" of unreleased tracks,
Including a cover of Elvis Presley's "Trouble," to be released only in the UK. With Rick Rubin producing it, you know it'll be a howler!
The Damned have regrouped with the intent of
touring the US, and U.K. Captain Sensible is back
in the lineup. Current LA. hard rock faves Guns
'n' Roses are planning to release an Ep in the fall
entitled The Shocking Truth. Side A will consist of
four acoustic tracks while the flip will include the
long out-of-print Live Like A Suicide Ep. Quite
unexpectedly, ex-SSD bassist Jamie Schirappa
has taken up bass chores for Boston hockey punks
Slapshot, with current bassist Jordon Wood mov-
ing to lead guitar. Their upcoming album, Step On
It, will be out this summer on Taang! Ex-
SOA/Snakes member Simon Jacobson has
relocated to Massachusetts where he is currently
working in a computer company and drumming
for what he describes as a "hard pop out-
fit...Dag Nasty fans rejoice! Original drummer
Colin Sears is currently hard at work in western
Massachusetts with a band called Grave Goods
described as "Can I Say-period Dag Nasty meets
the Smiths." A studio effort entitled The Blood Bats
with Sears and ex-Dag bassist Robert Mahbury
will be out soon on their own Hellfire label. Speak-
ing of ex-Daggers, an Ep from All, featuring Dave
Smallee on vocals, will be out this summer on Cruz
records under the title All-Roy For Presi-
dent. Hawker Records, a hardcore division of
Roadracer, has recently been established under
the guidance of John Bello, a long time NYC hard-
core regular. Their first two ventures will be albums
for Philadelphia's Pagan Babies and New York's
Token Entry, whose Lp will be produced by Dr.
Know of the Bad Brains Has anybody check-
ed the NYC socio-documentary Mondo New York,
currently making the rounds at art theaters across
America? If so, watch for brief appearances by
Warzone vocalist Raybies. CBGB's stage
manager Dennis and countless others....News
from the C.O.C. camp: a four-track demo is cur-
rently circulating featuring the current line-up of
Reed on drums and vocals, Phil Swischer on bass

and Woody on guitar. A re-issue of the debut
C.O.C. Lp Eye For An Eye will be appearing short-
ly on Caroline. It will differ from previous Toxic
Shock re-issues, which were taken from fourth
generation masters. The C.O.C. re-issue is taken
from a "cleaned up" master. The CD version will
include six to eight tracks from different periods
all throughout C.O.C.'s career Meanwhile, they are
still searching for a vocalist to replace Simon Bob
Sinister who will be reforming the Ugly
Americans. Also watch for a C.O.C. mini-album
of unreleased material on Caroline....Nuclear
Assault has signed with IRS to relase their next
Lp. Called Survive, it will debut on IRS's new metal
label. Look for a summer tour from the band, as
well....Ludichrist have finally finished recording
their new Lp, Powerstrip...Heathen have started
work on their new Lp, tentatively titled Opiate of
the Masses...Swans have released a cover of
Joy Division's classic "Love Will Tear Us Apart,"
as they continue to branch out from their in-
dustrial/noise roots into more melodic music....
Junkyard has been signed to Geffen records.
...Sad to tell, but T.S.O.L. has gone to hell. Ron
Emory, original member, songwriter and creator
of the band, has quit. It seems that the rest of the
band will go on without Ron. It will be called Mike
Roach's T.S.O.L... Ex-Chameleon lead singer.
and bassist Marc Burgess has a new band call-
ed The Sun and the Moon. Their Lp will be out
on Geffen soon. The Tater Tots had their record
release bash at the Scream in L.A. The Tots are
a Yoko-Plastic Ono type band which consists of
two members of Redd Kross, Danny Bonaduce
of Partridge Family fame, Pat Fear and Pat
Ruthensmear (ex of The Germs). Celebs in atten-
dance eating the free tater tots and munchies were
Molly Ringwald, Neil Young, Yoko Ono and
more. The Hangmen are rumored to have a deal
confirmed with Capitol. The Decline Of West-
ern Civilization Part II (The Metal Years), the new
movie from producenidirector Penelope Spheeris,
premiered at the Cinemarama Dome in Hollywood,
The movie and soundtrack feature Alice Cooper,
Megadeth, Motorhead and a host of others in a
look at the metal/speed-metal scene.
