PATROL
We have received two more
generous shipments from manufac
turers this month. The first was from
Z Products and the other from Santa
Monica Airlines. Both of these com-
panies have been around for a while
and are sometimes overlooked
because of the mega advertising

new ideas and equipment for today's
skaters
Z Products has designed the Z-
Roller truck with a roller device where
you would put a coper on another
truck. Interesting idea-roll over
everything in sight. It seems kind of
complicated (lots of washers and dif-
ferent sized nuts to hold wheels on).
but they turn well. They're not the
sharpest but are definitely ridable.
These trucks are a bit heavier than
most others on the market. We sug-
gest that you take off the hanger.

Of the two boards we sampled, the
Z Blank and the Z Pig, the blank looks
like an excellent little street board. It
has good wood, no graphics, not
much kick tail, and a flat area for a
14" after the back holes. The Z Blank
checks in at 29" long, just under 10"
wide, with a 6" tail, a 2%" nose and
a 15% wheelbase.
The Z Pig is longer and wider and
is painted top and bottom with wild
board graphics. The Z Pig is just
under 30" long and 10½" wide, with
a 2% nose, a 5% tail and a 1614"
wheelbase. It has notches in front for
air grips, and it tapers back to a nar-
row tail area. For a complete picture
of the Z product line, write to them.
I'm sure they will write back. Z Pro-

The new Santa Monica Airlines
boards are quite different from the
older ones. The manufacturer is
Santa Cruz, so the boards have the
excellent Santa Cruz concave. The
original boards do not seem to have
very much concave. These new ones
have the semi-rocker and also the tri-
tail (on the newest Natas shape). The
Chano
on
original Natas has a wide, short tail.
The board is the ollie monster with
more tail to pop. It is 29%" long and
a little over 10" wide with a 6%" tail,
a 2% nose and a 15%" wheelbase.
The newer Natas has a more classic
WATAS
NEW
7-P19
shape with a wider nose and smaller
hips that flair to a wider tail. These
decks are a step in the right direction.
The measurements of the new
Natas are: 30" long, 10" wide, 6%"
of tail, 3½" of nose and a 15%"
wheelbase (like the original). So set
it up and ride it hard. Santa Monica
Airlines is a little company with qua-
lity stuff and excellent decks. Santa
Monica Airlines, PO Box 5883, Santa
Monica, CA 90401.
We also received the new
Concrete Jungle D.R.I. board.
Where most boards are pretty
generic, this board is quality stuff.
With a notch nose and a wide nose
area, it is great to ride forward or
backward. The D.R.I. is one of the
few boards between 30" and 36" in
length. We can recommend this
board for bigger and heavier skaters.
This board is big enough to ride and
trash, and then cut into a smaller
board for your little brother or sister.
At 31" long, 10%" wide, with a 6½"
tail, a whopping 44" nose, and a 15"
wheelbase, this board also features
the Alva concave tail and beautiful
colored stains. Write and get info.

We managed to get a pair of
Schmitt II long rails, the same as the
Schmitt II but with 5 holes. More rail
for the same price as the smaller
ones. Good deal. Schmitt Stix, 1711
