A Breckenridge
"Goddam, I swear I wish dese bloomin' ski boots.
fit lak ma cowboy boots!" yells the Texan, loud enough
so those who don't want to hear have no choice.
"Yeah boy, we'd be richer dan Emmy Lou's cherry pie
if we'd invent a bindin' dat'd hold cowboy boots!
HAHAHAHAHA! YOODOGGIE!" The chair swings as
stomachs turn.
"Hey Billy Bob-look at dat blasted fool goin' down
on dat dere skateboard! What a nut!"
"Dat ain't no skateboard, ya porkbutt, dat's what they
call one a them skibobs. I know what them is, I seen
it on James Bond."
"Hey look! That sumbitch 'sa
goin' on the Nastar course! Aw
hell, I could blow away any one
a 'dem with my new hundred-
and sixty meter high-
preformance slalomin' skis I
bought last week. Shit, I got
me three bronzes over at
Cooper Mountain yesterday,"
he says, beaming with pride.
"I don't know 'bout those
things, though. I heard them
bindings don't come out
when ya fall. Looks lak a
helluva way to bust your leg.
But boyhowdy, James Bond
sure showed 'dem Ruskies
a thing or two with one of
them. But dat was
different-it came offa.
snowmobile."
Fortunately, there is one
thing that can overpower
the ramblings of spring
vacation tourists: the loud
carves of over 300
snowboarders descend-
ing the Breckenridge.
