GAR-BAGE SALE
Hey, Mr. Potato Head! "Garage
Sailing" was probably the best con-
sumer service article I have read in
a long time. Garage sales are the
best thing to happen since the inven-
tion of concrete sidewalks. It's about
time they got the recognition they
deserve. But listen...a garage sale
is not only a great place for a bargain;
it's also a great way to make a few
bucks. Being a college student, I
always need cash, and the pro skate
circuit is not ready for me. What's a
man to do? Then it dawned on me
and my girlfriend, "Hey, we have en-
tirely too much shit." So away we
went. Being an ex-garage sale shop-
per, I knew what would and wouldn't
sell. Don't ever disregard anything.

ple, I sold a mattress that I got out of
the trash, no joke. There are some
people who have no taste. These are
the people who have no respect for
the death of the "Leisure Suit." You
can count on these people to buy the
stuff that the Salvation Army won't
even take. This year we will make
about $1,000 selling stuff. Is this a
great country or what?

We'd like to compliment your
mag's ripping articles on the street
scene and the article about Lance
Benson from Knightdale, NC. He's
got to be the raddest skater around.
I'm sure many skaters feel the same
way about him. His innovation, deter
mination and bio-ness is to be com-
mended. I'm sure he's a cool kid to
hang with. If you're reading this,

DEVIL RIDES FOR POWELL?
I was wearing a Caballero shirt at
school one day when my friend
lightly informed me that Powell-
Peralta was satanic. Well, I thought
this guy was a 1-head until I tried
something he said to do. You take a
little hand mirror and a Powell-Peralta
sign (inside back cover of March
Thrasher will do groovy) and read it.
It says 666 Pretty trippy, right!? Also,
on all Powell-Peralta stuff they have
dragons, demons, swords on fire, etc.
I'm not saying anything, because I
don't think Mr. Powell or Stacy Peralta
are hardcore devil worshippers. You
decide, is it coincidence, or is
it...Ohhh!

THEY WERE BORN AGAIN
What's the deal? In your March
issue you mention that the Drunk
Injuns lived up to their name at the
"Thrasher X-Mas Bash." Wait a se-
cond, a few months ago you said they
died in a 66 car pile up. I'm a big fan
of the Injuns and I'm real confused.
Are they, or are they not, dead? Clear
it up, dammit!

When I came here to Kenya-for
those of you who don't know where
that is, it's in Africa-I thought, bum-
mer, it's gonna be such a drag. Later,
my dad said I could build a halfpipe.
(Until then I'll skate in the garage.)
I also brought a few decks over, just
hoping that maybe...and what do
you know? Kenyans can skate good.

We might live in a small town in
Mississippi, but we still thrash. But

I'm the only girl I know of in Kan-
sas (except for one other) who ap-
preciates skating at all. Kansas is
nice, but that's as far as it goes. No
style. And the weather sucks. Right
now there's a blizzard going on with
10" of snow on the ground and
another 4" expected. This summer
we're vacationing in California, and
I don't plan on coming back. Neither
does my brother. Ever since he
